▶ Hight /Low RF Power SwitchableVoice companding. (Save thousands compared to a Motorola / Kenwood setup). This radio can be programmed with or without a PC to also work on private repeater systems. But I still can't access them.Compared to previous Baofeng products (UV-5R and the UV-B Series) this radio comes with a much louder speaker (1 watt!), a more solid design with larger buttons, and a better antenna.

I know the saved frequencies are there because I saved 22 in the channels and I have 22 channels full on the HT.
So, even though I have the frequencies stored in the mem-ch section, I still can't get them to the transmit/receive screen. When it returns to my A/B frequency screen the frequency does not change to the one stored in mem-ch01. When I go to menu I do this sequence menu>mem-ch>menu>ch-001>menu (to select ch-001)>exit/ab. Now that I know where my saved frequencies are I'm still having trouble accessing them. But now I realize I can only store 99 frequencies and not 99 banks w/ a group of frequencies in each bank. I was thinking the list I saved was in channel 1 and that I could access that and scroll through my saved frequencies. I thought the channels were banks of channels instead of individual channels.
It's my fault because I assumed something that was incorrect. Your "list" is loaded as written, 1 to channel 1, 2 to channel 2. Probably missed it somewhere.I'm lost as to what your asking. Anybody know where it could be? When I was creating the list in CHIRP I didn't see a way to store it in a specific place. I checked the "MEM-CH" (menu 27) and didn't see it.
I created a list using CHIRP and downloaded it to the radio, but can't find it. After messing w/ this most of the day I am tired and keep running into the same fixes over and over that are not working for me. And the cord snaps into the radio so I think it is making correct contact and doesn't need to be filed as I have seen some do.Īs I have said I do not know what else to do. I have also checked to make sure the ports are correct and they are. Well, I tried that and my radio model (UV-82) is not one of the options so I tried UV-3R and UV-5R but after the cloning window closes it says "radio did not respond". While searching I found out you can select "download to radio" from that same menu and then fill in the radio make and model and that will allow you to see the radio in CHIRP.

While in the CHIRP software I go to the menu bar (at the top) and click Radio but "upload to radio" is not able to be selected. It is showing the device is connected and working but I still can't download to it.

I then searched and found a download driver (Prolific).
I first used the driver that came installed in the Baofeng cord.that didn't work and my computer was unable to recognize the device. The software I have used (CHIRP and Baofengs) has been easy to use but getting the radio to connect is where I'm having troubles. I have been trying to program it but keep running into road blocks. I recently picked up a Baofeng UV-82L to get my feet wet in amateur radio. I have very little knowledge of amateur radio and have tried searching but can't find a fix. I have exhausted my knowledge and research capabilities w/ this.
